The island of Key West has two main zones: Old Town and New Town. In Old Town, you will find the historic district, Duval Street, and many restaurants, bars, and attractions. New Town offers less convenience for visitors, but room rates are usually lower.

Book your room early - especially if you plan to visit Key West during any of the following busy seasons:

• December through April - this is "High Season". Rates will be highest and the best hotels will sell out well in advance.
• Fantasy Fest - this huge adult-oriented festival takes place that last week of October and usually all Old Town hotels will be sold out in advance. Many hotels have minimum stay requirements.
• Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Eve - very popular and require advance booking.
